The portal of the National Institute of Metrological Research (INRIM) was designed and built in compliance with the accessibility requirements for the websites of the Public Administration provided for by the Law "Stanca" n.4 / 2004 "Provisions to facilitate access for subjects disabled to IT tools ".
In the creation of the new portal, the technical requirements indicated in the Decree of 20 March 2013 were applied, which updated the accessibility requirements for the PA websites, aligning them with the "AA" level of the WCAG 2.0 "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines" of the W3C.
Thanks to the Mobile first approach and the implementation of Responsive Web Design technology, users of the site will be able to navigate quickly and easily regardless of the device used.
The pages of the portal have been developed in compliance with the standards of the HTML5 and CSS3 languages, which are able to make the most of the characteristics of current and future mobile devices and allow advanced and dynamic functions, to the detriment of the full compliance of the W3C validation of the syntax .
The portal was created with the open source Drupal CMS (Content Management System), compatible with the international ISO and W3C recommendations.
