METROLOGY AND MEASUREMENTS FOR AN EFFICIENT ELECTRIC RAILWAY SYSTEM
Thursday 28 January, from 9:30 am to 4 pm, the final online Workshop "Metrology and Measurements for an Efficient Electric Railway System" will close the European research project "Myrails - Metrology for Smart Energy Management in Electric Railway Systems" (EMPIR Project 16ENG04).
MyRailS has developed techniques, tools and procedures to provide accurate and reliable measurements of energy and power quality and to assess the impact resulting from the installation of energy recovery systems. The project aims to promote energy-saving by trains and subways, greater efficiency of the railway system, with a view to its integration in a wide smart grid, interoperability between European rail systems, and international standards for energy metering and pricing.
The MyRails project, coordinated by INRiM, is funded by the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) of the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET).
The final Workshop has been organised to connect the research world with the MyRailS project stakeholders. The event intends to share experimental research work results achieved thanks to 41-month cooperation among national metrological institutes, research centres, and industrial partners.
The event is free and open to the interested audience on YouTube or the Zoom platform.
