Evaluating uncertainty

Even uncertainty can be assessed: this is the objective of EMPIR project EMUE - Examples of Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation, which involves INRiM in collaboration with other European metrological institutes.

Over the course of EMUE project, examples of uncertainty evaluations has been produced, covering various metrological fields and using application of different methodologies: from the propagation of uncertainity law, to the propagation of probability distributions with Monte Carlo method, to the application of the Bayesian inference.

The examples collected by far can be found in the project Compendium and downloaded individually from Zenodo platform, each with its own code.
