Paragrafo

The main objective of this project is to implement a compact and lightweight space Rb atomic frequency standard achieving a frequency stability performance equal to or better than the Passive Hydrogen Maser, which represents the current state-of-the-art space atomic clock, but with reduced size, mass, power consumption, and also less stringent operation constraints.

This atomic clock works thanks to pulsed optical pumping (POP) and is mainly designed for application in the frame of the second generation GNSS where the ultimate frequency stability characteristics are required.
