The recent discovery of materials capable of exerting a passive cooling effect during the day represents an exceptional opportunity for reducing the energy needs and the environmental impact of traditional cooling technologies.
The PaRaMetriC project aims to develop the first metrological framework for the classification and characterization of the performance of this new class of materials, harmonising existing measurement approaches and developing a new standardised protocol for evaluating their energy performance.
The project will benefit from the collaboration between a network of research institutes and industrial partners for the realisation of new reference materials, their thermal and spectral modeling and characterisation, as well as their actual performance evaluation under in-field conditions.
