From 9 to 18 July 2025, the new edition of the Summer School for Metrology, one of the summer courses of the International School of Physics "Enrico Fermi", entitled "Future needs for metrology: climate science, quantum technologies and the digital transformation", will be held at Villa Monastero in Varenna.
Organized by the Italian Physical Society (SIF) in collaboration with the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRiM), the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the Centro Español de Metrología (CEM), the school will offer a large number of lessons from world metrology experts in the field of climate science, quantum technologies and digital transformation, in the fantastic setting of Varenna, on the shores of Lake Como.
Students are invited to present a poster on their research and study activities.
A volume of the Course Proceedings of the “Enrico Fermi” International School of Physics will be published jointly by the Italian Physics Society and Springer. It will appear in the book series "Springer Proceedings in Physics"; and will contain all the lessons held during the school.
