From October 21 to 24, 2025, a major event was held at the INRiM Campus in Turin, involving the Working Group on Gas Analysis (GAWG) of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM) of the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM).
The meeting, held in hybrid mode, brought together representatives from National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and Designated Institutes (DIs) worldwide active in the field of gas analysis to discuss key issues related to technical activities in the metrological sector.
The event represented a crucial opportunity for coordinating metrological activities in gas analysis worldwide, fostering discussion and collaboration among the sector's main stakeholders.
A special focus was given to the emerging issue of passivation chemistry for enhanced stability of gas reference materials, with the kick-off meeting of the GAWG Task Group on Passivation Chemistry and a dedicated workshop.
