The drive towards nanotechnology has made possible significant advances in the study of material properties and manufacturing processes. Metrology supports nanoscience to (i) develop reference materials and (ii) define quantitative measurements to strengthen the reliability, safety and competitiveness of products.

The activities focus on the study of samples proposed to support the need of 3D measurement at the nanoscale, specifically bio-based nanostructures as natural reference of shape and size, and on quantitative measurements of critical dimensions of nanoparticles with complex geometry.
