INRiM announces a public competition for the recruitment of one fixed-term (one year) research position (Level III) under the following profile: Researcher.
The candidate will be chosen by qualifications and exams.
The position is funded by the Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca (MUR) under the FIS 2 Call. Project title: Quantum Sensing for Localized Temperature Detection in Neuronal Networks (QUANTNET). CUP: E53C25001950001.
The activities to be carried out will focus on topics related to Quantum Optics and Quantum Metrology. In particular, the research activities within the framework of the project “Quantum Sensing for Localized Temperature Detection in Neuronal Networks (QUANTNET)” will concern the use of quantum sensors and the advancement of their Technology Readiness Level (TRL), with particular focus on the field of bio-sensing.
The call for applications is open to candidates holding the following academic qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematical-Physics Modelling for Engineering or in Materials Science and Engineering.
- PhD in Physics, Metrology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering, or in scientific disciplines relevant to the field covered by the call, or at least three years of research activity carried out at Universities or qualified public or private research institutions and centers, including international ones, in the field covered by the call.

The candidate will be chosen by qualifications and exams.
ERC-2024-STG Project "3D integrated photonic nanostructures with Giant optical nonlinearity – 3DnanoGiant" (CUP: E13C24003290006)
The selected candidate will work on integrated nonlinear photonic materials, including the design of photonic structures such as photonic crystals and integrated optical circuits, the formulation of liquid-crystalline polymeric materials, two-photon laser printing of commercial and customized resins, linear and nonlinear characterization of photonic structures in the visible and near-infrared range, electron microscopy, and ellipsometric measurements.
The candidate will be involved in the experimental activities of the IMLab laboratory.

- Master’s Degree in one of the following classes: Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Sciences;

The selected candidate will carry out the following activities:
- Manage the creation of graphic and multimedia materials to support the communication activities of research projects;
- Provide support, with regard to graphic design and visual communication aspects, in the design, development, and updating of research project websites.
The public selection procedure is open to candidates holding one of the following upper secondary school diplomas:
