Quando: Mercoledì 27 settembre 2023, alle ore 14:30
Dove: Sala riunioni, Palazzina D, primo piano
Titolo: “Traveling-wave parametric amplifiers: myths and realities”
Relatore: Maxime Malnou
Affiliazione: Advanced Microwave Photonics, NIST
Maxime Malnou completed his PhD in France, focusing on the study of High-Tc Josephson junctions for terahertz detector applications. He then pursued a postdoctoral position at the University of Colorado, where he developed the technique of microwave vacuum squeezing using Josephson parametric amplifiers for axion dark matter research. Following this, he joined NIST, where he worked on developing a kinetic-inductance traveling-wave parametric amplifier to enhance the readout of superconducting sensors. Currently, he remains at NIST, where he is dedicated to advancing a new generation of Josephson traveling-wave amplifiers for quantum computing, along with his work in noise characterization and the synthesis of novel traveling-wave devices.
